The Pool Is Open

The temps have been around 85 degrees for the last few days, so the kids have decided that it is time to open up the pool!  Never mind that the water temperature is 65 degrees. : )  So, I filled up the little pool for, well, the littles and the big kids went in the big pool.  Poor Will, he's at school!

Not a great pic, but the only one of the 3 of them in the big pool!

Do you want more children?

Similar questions I get are:

Will you adopt again?
Are you done having babies?

Well, it depends on how our day is going when you ask! : )  First, you have to believe that children are a blessing.  If you don't then what I have to say will not make sense to you. They really are; even in the hard days. They are always a blessing to us as parents.  And if you see them that way, parenting takes on a new light.  I have been given a gift!  How will I train, love, nurture, and equip this little person that has been given to me for only a short time?  All too soon, our children will be leaving our home one by one to establish themselves in this world.  Have we done our best by them to help them in that endeavor?

We have 6 children.  To many people that seems like a lot.  Yes, we have a busy home, but it is a fairly chaos-free home.  Jim and I expect loving, gentle words and deeds to reign in our home and that starts with us setting the example (with God's help!).  I am busy, but not overwhelmed.  Someone could have 2 or 3 kids and definitely feel overwhelmed and not enjoy their children due to a number of issues that I will not get into now. ;-)

So, as for the questions, I have to answer "I don't know."  Since we are all emotionally driven human beings, it is best not to entirely rely on ourselves for this answer.  As with all aspects of our lives, if you are truly walking with the Lord, you lay it down.  Give it to Him and then listen to that often still, small voice to prompt you and then OBEY!  It's easy for me to say, "No, God.  My plate is full.  My house is full.  My bank account is empty.  No more little ones, please!"  Wow!  That's a lot of MY will and not God's.  Not a lot of eternal work has been done when we put our desires and emotions at the forefront.

I should hope that our lives and home are open to whatever the Lord should have for us. Because I sure don't want to miss the promise of the blessings that come with the call for obedience!

Whatever you are struggling with right now, I hope you are laying it down, finding the peace that surpasses understanding and resting in God's grace and perfect timing.
