Izzy's Big Day!

Yesterday was Isabel's 2nd birthday.  Her first birthday home with us.  All the children get donuts on their birthday.  Izzy was definitely not pleased.  That's how our day started!!

I was a little concerned as she still gets a bit overwhelmed in large crowds and her birthday party was later in the day.  She did great, though!

We had family and friends over to celebrate who were an important part of bringing Isabel home.  It was a hot day.  108 degrees!! The pool was definitely open and I hired a lifeguard since there were almost 15 kids in the pool.  Makes me nervous!

I made this poster of Izzy's life so far.  Pictures from her referral file and with her foster families, Gotcha Day and now home with us!

I loved her sweet cake.  It turned out really great!

She got a Bitty Baby doll from us.  I actually bought it last September when were we at the American Girl Doll store for Anna's birthday.  I've had it in my closet all these months waiting for a very special girl!  She loves her baby!!

And I bought this outfit last summer just after we received our Pre-Approval... also waiting for our sweet girl's birthday!!

Overall, it was a great day and ends the season of birthdays (5 in 10 wks!) until the fall. : )
